Weekend | June 14-16, 2013

Friday started out nice and relaxing. Was able to do quite a bit of Bible devotions before Violet woke up around 8. And of course the usual breakfast and play-time. Babysat Payton for a little bit while Brody and Madison were at swimming lessons. He LOVED being in the exersaucer! And Violet was showering him in kisses like usual. Brett and the kids stopped by after swimming was done and let all the kids play around a bit. And Brett showed me how ticklish Payton is. Adorable! After they left I quickly did  dishes and got supper ready for tomorrow and then sat down to lunch with Violet. Nap-time followed shortly after and I worked on some Project Life stuff and Violet's Rag Rug. It's slowly coming along! And so proud to report that Violet stayed in her big bed for her nap-time all this week! Guess next week she'll move to the big bed for night-time as well. Once Keith got home and Violet was up from her nap, we piled in the car to drop Violet off at Keith's Dad's place so that me and Keith could go on our date night! We were originally going to go to The Keg Steakhouse for supper and then go see a movie, but with the timing, we would only be picking Violet up after 10pm. So we opted for supper and bumming around. Supper at The Keg Steakhouse was really good. We got a Mushroom Neptune appetizer, and full meals complete with steaks, veggies and potatoes. I was waddling afterwards. Then we went to bum around St. Vital mall where Keith picked up a game that he's been waiting for months to get. I got myself some Chocolate Mint Fudge from Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory and Keith bought me 2 new body butters from The Body Shop: Raspberry and Passion Fruit. Picked up Violet just after 8pm and Mom & Dad said that she did really good, save for 2 meltdowns. Guess she had to test boundaries. Lol. Once we got home and put her to bed, we chilled for a bit before calling it a night.

Saturday was the usual day at work. And when I got home, Violet was already gone with Aunt Sam so that we could do our Truth Project class. During our class (which is held in our house), Keith's brother Jon stopped by to start putting the new siding on our house! yeah! After we were done Truth Project,  I walked down to Sam's place and went walking around Summer in the City with Sam and Violet. Didn't do any rides as they were $$$, but it was nice looking around. Sam said he had already walked around with Violet when she ha her before and she really loved the goats and sheep at the Petting Zoo. Unfortunately , they were putting the animals away when we got there. When we got back home, Keith and Jon had finished about 1/2 of the siding. Apparently Jon ran out of energy. Lol. Once Violet was in bed around 8:30, Keith played his video game while I worked on some stuff on my computer. And then around 11:00pm, Keith mentioned that he was hungry. So was I. So I drove to A&W at 11:15 in the evening to get food. Yes, it was worth it! And bedtime at 12:30am!

Sunday I had booked the day off so that me and my sisters could take our hubbies and Dad out to the Zoo for Father's Day. Violet stayed in her bed for the entire night!! Woot!! Me and Violet were even nice to Keith and let him sleep in until 9:30am while we had been up since 7:30am. Lucky guy. Unfortunately, Keith couldn't come with us to the Zoo as he had to help Jon finish the siding on the house. Me and Violet left close to 10am and made it to the Zoo in decent time, although major traffic from the Manitoba Marathon did't help. Once everyone showed up at the Zoo, we went walking around. The kids loved everything! And me, Brody and Madison got to touch an Emu in the Australian Walk-About. And Brody was really excited about seeing the Penguins. Violet did pretty good and walked about half the time that we were there and we were there for 3 hours! After we were done walking around the Zoo, we got back into the cars and went to Burger King. I guess someone was really tired because she was out cold by the time we got to Burger King. And after eating a very late lunch, she got we second wind and didn't fall asleep at all on the ride home.  Once we got home, I made supper while she played with Keith and then relaxed until bedtime.
