I has the Bestest Hubby in the World! As I had made Cinnamon Buns last week, Keith decided that he'd show me how it's done. I had a Baby Shower in the city after I was done work today in which Keith orchestrated that I could go to. Smart guy. Afterwards, we went to Wendy's for supper and Violet got her very own fry box which she devoured and just made silly faces at us the entire time. Last of the Christmas gatherings today and it was my grandparents on my Mom's side. Everyone came out to Natalie's place and enjoyed good food, company and of course, gift opening! Violet got quite a few toys and clothes, which will just be added to the growing piles at home.   In the evening after Violet went to bed, me and Keith watched an episode of Sherlock and The Expendables. We finally didn't have any gatherings today!! So me and Violet spent the day at home while Daddy was at work. Violet decided to break in her new chair that she got from one of her grandparents by rocking it back and forth and then toppling it over backwards. But no tears or crying. Today saw 2 (!) gatherings. One with Keith's grandparents and one with my Mom. Good food and good visiting. Unfortunately, due to the effects of Laryngitis, I'm behind a bit in my December Daily. I'm hoping to make and post the past 4 days once V goes down for her afternoon nap and before we head to my Dad's for Christmas Eve. Merry Christmas!!!

This evening we were at my Dad's place for the last Christmas in that house. So, as stated in a recent post, I had came down with Laryngitis on Friday and therefore it has stolen all of my energy. Luckily I seem to be on the mend now, so here are the past 4 days in one post!   On the 20th, my sister Natalie had her 3rd kid, a little baby boy named Payton. Despite being 12 days early, he's healthy and doing good. So is Mama. And I'm a proud Auntie again!   On the 21st, me and my sister Sam took my Mom to go see The Hobbit. It was so worth the wait! Now just to wait until next year to see Part 2. On the 22nd, as I was sick, I just decided to write a note to my awesome and bestest hubby ever. My oh my, do I ever love this guy! The 23rd turned out to be a 2-page spread as I had so many photos from a gathering with Keith's Mom and Step-Dad. I had my niece for most of the afternoon/evening today and we had a blast. Figured I might as well document it as well. Where to begin on this one... First of all, Violet is cutting her top 2 molars (the 1st ones on each side). Yes, at the same time. Luckily, she's not too cranky during the day, although evening is a different story. But she is eating everything that I'm giving her and then some. But at least she is happy for the most part. Second, Violet has figured out how to throw a tantrum (just a little one). Mainly happens when she's hungry and I'm not fast enough in getting her food. She'll literally sit there, cry and then double over so that it looks like she's praying while she cries. It is quite funny to see. But as soon as she realizes that Mommy has food, all is right in the world. Thirdly (and this is more for me), I've realized that a certain "friend" is no longer needed in my life. We had a huge blow-up over something (not going into details), but now I'm blocked from her FaceBook, blogs and Twitter. Really? Sigh. In the end though, I do realize

This evening we had our Cell Group Christmas Party at church. It was potluck style and a blast. The guys played games and us ladies held babies and chatted. Oh, and stuffed our faces with food. Today was my Mom's 50th birthday party. And it was a "surprise." I think she knew about it.   But she was happy to see all us kids there and to see all her grandkids as well. Today is a day when I absolutely love my daughter to bits and pieces!   I had set up our tree yesterday (a fake one that Keith had bought on Sunday) and decorated and stashed presents under there today while Violet napped. Once she got up and went into the living room to play with her toys, she didn't even pay attention to it at all. No gawking at the lights, no trying to go for the presents. Nothing. Just sat there, playing with her toys and completely ignoring the tree.   So of course I documented it. Haha!! Christmas Tree time!   Every year we go down to my parent's place (now just my Dad's), and help decorate the tree. It's been like this since I was a little kid. Now that we're all married and have kids of our own, it's turned into a family tradition. And up until this year, my Grandma W would come down and "supervise" us, but with her gone now, this is the first Christmas without her.   And we also found out that my Dad's house has just been sold, so this will be the last Christmas there as well. It is for the better though, as there are so many memories of Mom and Dad in that house, that now with them split and soon divorced, it's better this way.   So while everyone decorated the tree, I "supervised" as my back was hurting from standing at work all day over the coffee machines. 19 days left until Christmas!! I was almost worried that I wouldn't have anything for today. And then this happened. Keith surprised me with a dozen roses and a box of After Eight chocolates for no reason after work! I even asked him what the occasion was, and his answer was just because. Hello December 5th!   Can I say that I'm still excited about this project?? Please??!! It's (so far) been pretty awesome to document everyday with something, even if it's not Christmas-sy (yes, that's a word).   Today, it was playing in bed with Violet. She absolutely loved it and kept rolling over, sitting up and then throwing herself backwards and having a tickle fight with Mommy. Oh, and also got into the clean laundry that was on the bed. Day 4 is here!!!!   Nothing much happened today except that I finally (!!!) ordered our Christmas Cards. SuperStore was having a sale on 4x6 for $0.10 each (with a min. purchase of 100)! Sweet!! Day 3 is here!!!   Today's adventure: my ambitious baking. I decided that we needed some home-made snacks in the house and went on a baking spree. What was made? Onto Day 2 of December Daily! Today was a more relaxed day, except for me working the morning/afternoon (have I ever stated how much I miss my weekends with my family?? Sigh...) So today's layout was about wrapping all the Christmas gifts bought yesterday (well, almost all. I ran out of wrapping paper and still have a couple to go) and spending time with Violet. So since today is the official start to December Daily, I thought I'd post my December 1st layout that I did.   Basically I was at work really early (the time there is the time I woke up), dropped Violet off at the Grandparents and we went to the city for supper with friends and to finish off all our Christmas shopping.   Busy day!!   Oh, and some info about the page: I'm using Creative Memories StoryBook Creator to do all my pages digitally, using the Holiday Whimsical backgrounds and embellishments (free download only from Creative Memories ). Just makes it look/feel like Christmas.  

Thankful Thursday, Nov 29: 1) I know I've been saying this every week, but I am really thankful for V. She is growing in leaps and bounds and exploring everything right now. Even on her cranky and miserable days (you would be to if you were teething and there is no more soother), she still brings joy to my day. And I always want to be thankful for that. 2) Keith: that man, is well.....my man :). He take care of us in every way possible and then some. 3) Winter: as much as I hate the cold, it's also a nice break from the heat during the summer. It means building snow forts with the niece and nephew, seeing V play in the snow for the first time, and CHRISTMAS!!!! 4) Friends: after a couple things hit the fan with a "friend" on FaceBook, I'm grateful for the girls that I can call as real friends. The ones (you know who you are) that I can share my highs and lows, the joys and triumphs, and the giggles of being a Mom and Wife at the same time. And they share those mom

Welcome to my first attempt at December Daily. This is a project that Ali Edwards puts on and documents every year. You document every day of December, or how much of it as you want to. I'll probably end up doing the entire month as I have Christmas gatherings right up until the end. As most scrapbookers do this traditionally, I'll be sticking with my digital scrapbook program for this (like all my other scrapbooking projects). I got rid of a lot of my "traditional" scrapping stuff a while ago and just stick to digital. The program that I use is Creative Memories StoryBook Creator. I've had it for almost a year now and still love it as much (if not more) than the day I got it. I have the creative freedom to do whatever and however I want with it. You’re 1 year old Baby Girl! And you’ve grown so big! Currently at 21 lbs and 31 inches. You are very good at scooting around on your bum as your mode of transportation and even trying to stand up with some help. You love walking around the house while holding onto Mommy’s hands. You’re eating everything in sight. Mashed potatoes, hamburger, chicken and toast (either in butter or Cheez Whiz) are your favourites. You’re starting to be a little shy when it comes to new people, but when it’s someone you know, you’ll gladly go over to them. You are even trying to say more words, but right now Mommy & Daddy can’t understand them. Although we do know when you are happy because you’re talking non-stop and squealing with delight.
