Ramblings of a Stay-at-Home Mom

If anyone knows my husband, he's not big on parties (either for him or putting one together). So when he kept "taking" my cell phone (it's the only phone we have and I usually have it with me) and going into other rooms to either talk to someone or text, I knew something was up and he was planning something for my upcoming birthday. Of course, he has one of the best poker faces I've seen and denies every time. So on my birthday we headed into the city for the WarHammer 40K Painting Contest that Keith had entered with the intention of stopping by the Assiniboine Park Conservatory and taking some really cute pictures of V there. But on the way there, we drove right by it. I mentioned it to Keith, but he just brushed it off and kept on driving. We pulled into the parking lot for the Zoo and as we were pulling out the stroller I noticed that some of our friends were there as well. Turns out that my hubby planned a surprise birthday for me by inviting friends of ours....

At 7 months old, you weighed around 19 lbs. You’re getting so strong already and have finally started to roll over! Although you do it only when you want to. You've also been eating a good variety of solid foods and seem to like your fruits more than anything, with meat as a close second. But we still do have to mix your puréed food with your pabulum, otherwise you won’t eat it. And you’re "talking" lots now. Mostly stuff that we don’t understand, but you are saying "Da-Da" which makes Daddy very happy.

So, I'm finally getting around to posting my Week in Review pages that I've been doing. I'll post them one month at a time, just so that it doesn't get over-loaded.

So me and Keith decided last night that we’re going to move V’s bed-time back to 10:00pm. There are quite a few reasons behind it, and the main one being is that on Mondays, Tuesdays and weekends, she goes to bed around that time because of other scheduling. And then she was going to bed at 8:30 Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, which was really messing her sleep schedule up and possibly why she’s not sleeping through the night. So we’re going to try putting her to bed around 10 and see if that helps her sleep better. I liked having an evening(ish) to myself, but if the consistency helps her sleep better (and hopefully through the night), then we’ll go with that.
