Screaming Halleluiah that I finally got my laptop working properly again. For some reason, I couldn’t access my start menu, my recycle bin, nor get photos off my phone. After a couple days of trying to fix the problem, I finally found a solution (create a new user) and viola! The start button still doesn’t work, but I can access everything else. Woo hoo! Enjoying the fact that the girls got themselves a bunk bed! Violet loves that she’s got the top bunk and that Dominique can’t get to her. Dominique loves that she’s got herself a big bed and that she can get in and out by herself. Trying to teach Dominique that when it’s bedtime that she needs to stay in her bed and go to sleep. Right now it’s taking about 1 hour to get her to go to sleep, but it’s a big transition, so we’re giving her some time. Thinking of upcoming blog posts, scrapbook layouts and journaling. My creative juices are coming back and I’m liking it. Watching way too many cartoons with the girls and not enough movies fo...

Day in the Life - March 29, 2016

Image
Yesterday (March 29), I participated in Ali Edwards annual Day in the Life. I LOVE this project. Even if I did forget to document some stuff (like running clothes errands with Violet and what we ate), but as a whole I love it. It's a glimpse into our day and what we did. I posted majority of my photos onto Instagram with the caption as to what was going on. And then I just copied everything over just to make it easier. There are some photos without captions, but they just go along with the daily story as a whole. Enjoy! 8:46am | A rough start to this morning means sleeping in for me and the girls which went like this: Violet up around 4:30am puking, which meant doing some clean-up and helping her settle down again // Keith getting up around 5:30 for work and him not feeling well either // Me being so tired that I’m relieved that it’s Spring Break and we can all sleep in. 9am | Morning coffee with my Mom 9:15am | Of course the girls enjoyed the TimBits that Grandma brought. 10:05...

Reading nothing this week. I do have some books sitting on my night stand, just haven’t gotten around to reading them yet. Watching Violet master writing everyone’s name, including Papa, Grandma, Meme, Pepe and Elsa. Trying to find some healthier snacks to eat in between meals instead of looking for chocolate. Scrapbooking my Travel albums. I'm doing them in Project Life style as I have quite a bit of it kicking around and it’s easy to use for all the memorabilia that I have from all my trips. Also working on catching up in Dominique’s album before her 2nd birthday (!!) in April. Knitting my double-knit Star Trek this week. I'm almost done it! Loving that it’s slowly warming up up here. Spring did give us a glimpse earlier this week, but then 2 days of snow came and covered that all up. And now it’s sunny again. Hating that Violet is still sick and coughing her lungs out. She’s fine otherwise, except for a fever that comes and goes, but she’s slowly getting better. Enjoy...

An Update on These Past Couple Weeks

Image
These past couple weeks have been slightly crazy around the house lately. It started off on March 3 (Thursday). Violet tripped/got pushed while playing tag in Pre-School and got some pretty serious rug burn on her nose. Poor girl. It happened when I stepped out of class to take Dominique to the Nursery, but the Class Teacher was there and saw it happen. Apparently one boy went to tag her as "it" for Tag, and she tripped at the same time, which caused her to plow into the carpet. She did cry a bit, but got back up and went back to playing with the other kids. And when anyone asked her what happened "so and so pushed me!" It took just over a week to fully heal, but it's looking much better! [caption id="attachment_821" align="alignnone" width="2448"] The initial rug burn. Reading nothing this week. Need to go to the local library and remedy that tomorrow. Playing Plants vs. Zombies 2 on my phone. The kids love it. Watching more documentaries on Netflix during afternoon quiet time. Been really trying to get back to watching more shows for myself. [caption id="attachment_778" align="alignnone" width="3264"] Dancing to the end credits (as always) of Beauty and the Beast. Violet dressed as Belle and Dominique as Tinkerbell.[/caption] Cooking more recipes from Pinterest this week. Drinking more water this week, although I really do want a nice big glass of Pepsi right now….. Knitting the double-knit of the Triforce, even though it’s from the 2014 blanket. I didn't know/like this week, so I opted for something different. 2016 Week in Review - Weeks 05+06

Image
Welcome to Weeks 05+06 of my 2016 Week in Review! Week 5 (January 25-31) was pretty good. Lots of time spent with the girls, new stove and fridge delivered (!!!), and just enjoying watching my girls grow up so big. Sigh. For my Week 05 layout, I grabbed one of my templates that I had made, as well as some digital embellishments, the weekly word art from Ali Edwards, and the digital paper. It all came together nicely! I do have to say that my favourite photos from this week is the one of Violet with the foals (baby horses) and Dominique helping me with the dishes. For Week 06 (February 1-7), it was a bit harder choosing photos. I realized that I took quite a bit of Violet this week and not a whole lot of Dominique. I think I managed to even it out, hopefully. Again, it's another one of my layouts, and I used one of the digital paper that I had on hand. Favourite photos from this week include Violet's writing of "Mom" and "Dad," Keith's before and after sh...

Reading Missoula. It was on my recommended list on Good Reads, so I figured I’d give it a try. So far it’s OK. Trying not to get too anxious about this coming September. I just registered Violet for Kindergarten and my worry/anxiety has gone up a bit. Baking some pizza buns and cookies this weekend. I'm out of both and that’s almost unheard of in this house. Knitting Sonic (still). I'm about ¾ done, but haven’t really had a lot of down time these last 2 weeks, but I'm hoping to get it down this weekend. Loving that my Grandparents finally agreed to move. They’re in their 80’s and still living by themselves. With both of them dealing with health issues, they realized that it would be best to move into town where help and medical care are closer. And they’ll only be a couple blocks away from us know instead of a 20 minute drive! Hating that I haven’t cleaned out my pantry and craft closet yet. No motivation to do that this past week. Crossing my fingers that I’ll at lea...
